NO MORE SHEETROCKING!!!!!

The last piece of sheetrock went up last night around 9:00pm. It didn't go easily. I am a terrible helper. I mis-measured, I dropped the sheetrock so it cracked on the back....Jay tripped on the cord and went through the window screen- the NEW window screen.

Things weren't pretty here last night. Thank goodness today is the 4th and maybe, just maybe we can relax.

Been a little busy....

So haven't had a chance to update the blog recently. We've been a little busy. We replaced a lot of siding on the front of the house, as well as finished up the trim work for the windows and the door. We also moved the dryer vent- it was on the side of the house by the driveway and blew out hot air all winter, freezing up our car doors. Now the vent is nicely concealed in the front behind the lilac bush.

HOLY CRAP! The front entrance room is sheetrocked and mudded!

Jay also worked all day on framing in the new hall window. There may hopefully be an update after this one showing the newly installed window, but at this point in time, just photos.

Front Entrance Update

THIS IS OUR FRONT ENTRANCE! IT'S BEEN WALLLESS FOR ALMOST 5 YEARS!!!!

So Jay and I put sheetrock up for an hour and a half tonight- A SUNDAY NIGHT! and we didn't start until 7:30. What the hell is wrong with us???? Oh yeah, we WANT IT OVER!!!!!

Day 2 of Weekend "Fun"

Today saw the installation of a new sill, some re-wiring, and more tyvek. Then, it ended with some beer and cornhole and BBQ. Oh, and strawberry shortcake.

So it was a cranky end to the day at the Cole house on Crawford, but the new windows are in, the new door jamb is in, and tyvek is up. Tomorrow should bring a new sill and some lovely trim and clapboard work....or not. Who knows which way the wind blows tomorrow. Hopefully, the weather clears and I can escape to go strawberry picking..... So I guess I didn't get pictures of the finished product yet....stay tuned till tomorrow. Its too dark, i'm too tired, and the wine is starting to make me walk funny, to take a photo.
